There was a mysterious fire on the upper floors of 218 S Wabash during rush hour on Friday night. I made a dash for the area out of concern that the proximity was so close to Central Camera at 230 S Wabash. The fire turned out to not be nearly as horrible as I had thought, but an hour later, a second mysterious (but unrelated?) fire began two doors down, on the top floor above Central Camera. The extent of water damage to Central Camera is unknown, but I will update as I find out more.
UPDATE 05/05/05 21:55 PM; According to Central Camera’s website, the store did not suffer damage, and they anticipate re-opening on Monday. I am quite relieved to find this out.
