With the weather getting a bit warmer, I feel compelled to get out and take more neighborhood walks. More often than not when I am out in the nabes, it is on the north side (Old Town, Lincoln Park, Lake View…), so I thought I would mix it up a bit and take a walk along Milwaukee between Grand and Division. Here is a small bit of what I found along the way. The red and green lights on the front of Engine Company 14 caught my eye, I can’t help but wonder about a night shot of this. The shadows in this gangway highlight a most ubiquitous Chicago wall of brick. Yellow arrow pointing to a bar, I want that sign. 1116 has been lilting to the right for so long, they cut an angled piece of wood to fill in the gap and painted it black to match. The Noble Square Co-op high-rise looks to be a sea of endless windows. And finally, waiting for the train at Division.
