This weeks random goodness comes from images shot over the past week. First up is a shot taken while waiting for a bus at Canal and Madison as the snow began to pile up last Tuesday. The north sculpture garden at the Art Institute is closed off to the public in the winter (Why is that?), leaving untouched snowfall surrounding art. The crosswalk sign at Madison and Wabash being overtaken by water dripping from the “L” station above. (I have two other shots here and here.) I have always been a fan of this sculpture on a condo building where Michigan Ave rolls into Lake Shore Drive. The title is “Gold Coast” by B. Rosenthal. I did a google search, but found nothing about it. Snow delicately settled on this wheelchair ramp to a garden level salon in River North. In the final shot, the sun was hiding just behind this building at State and Jackson, creating bright and shiny steam.
