With the recent sub-zero temps, the river has finally began to form a layer of ice on top, and with yesterday’s fluffy snow added to the top, the river took on the appearance of a Holstein Cow. It has been a few years since I have seen this happen, usually the river just emits steamy layer of water vapor (which itself can interesting). As a child growing up in Central California, snow still has a hold on me. It can be inconvenient, but that doesn’t take away from the amazing delicate beauty of fresh fallen snow. These shots were taken during the snowstorm, which explains the washed out look. I tweaked the color up a bit, trying to avoid having them look overdone. My favorite shot is the final one above with the commuters crossing the bridges. I will put up more shots of the snowy fun tomorrow.
