On Friday, while running a quick errand at lunch, I realized I was outside during daylight hours, the sun was shining, there were puffy clouds in the sky, and the ground was wet from a very recent rain. I wouldn’t quite say perfect storm, but these elements add up to an opportunity I could not pass up. So my errand lasted about five minutes longer as I snapped a few pictures while on the way.
The first shot caught my eye because of the sun reflecting off of the wet pavers at 10 S Riverside. Then the light was reflecting down the river, and when I turned around, the Boeing Building (one of my favorites) was reflecting the puffy clouds. The final shot was at Wacker and Madison, I like the shadows on the figures over the south entrance of the Civic Opera Building.
Follow up to my post last week featuring the escalators (which nobody commented on, I really liked those shots). I was walking by on Saturday, and noticed that the windows have been painted out so the escalators are no longer in view. Too bad…
