As a curve ball to my recent shots, I wanted to post something a bit different. I have wondered by this set of escalators at 17 N Wabash many times, thinking that I would like to photograph them. But whether it has been during the day or the night, the lighting was always bad. Well, last night the lighting was good. These escalators clearly aren’t that old, but have been out use for at least the past five years that I know of. (Does anybody know what retailer was here?) Given that the cost to install a set of escalators can well exceed $100k, it seems so odd to see them sit there covered in dust. There aren’t even any footprints from maintenance people.

Continued thanks for the outpouring of support and gratitude for my having raised the issue of the “Cameras on Plensa”.  I was interviewed by an even bigger entity than the Trib yesterday, for an upcoming article. I will post about it when it happens.
