…In an extraordinary city.
Walking home from work on Tuesday, the warmth (remember that) of the evening juxtaposed with holiday lights compelled me to whip it out and shoot away (my camera that is). To follow is a selection of images I shot while walking down Madison. I took lots of other shots, which I will post soon.
The green and red holiday lighting at 181 Madison behind the blur of taxies at Madison and Wells.
181 Madison is a sweet gem of architecture in the Loop. Often overlooked, it easily ranks in my top ten. This shot of the underside of the canopy over the entrance.
St Peter’s in the Loop is tucked in mid-block on Madison between LaSalle and Clark. I took several shots trying to capture the glow of the entrance, and while this wasn’t the best, I liked the blur of the office worker on the left.
Holding the camera in the ubiquitous position against the vertical column at Chase Tower. I always like it point this view out to tourists standing in the plaza (other side of the building from this shot) and watch the smile in their faces when the experience the optical illusion of the curving wall.
