I forgot to post yesterday… Really, I did… I took a couple of days off to work on my apartment and got so lost in painting the bedroom walls, I completely forgot about my self imposed obligation to post pictures to the internet. Well, all is not lost; here I am today with a few shots taken over the past week or so.
First up, the pigeon warmer at Daley Plaza. Technically known as the Eternal Flame, a memorial to all who have served our country, it has been burning (and warming pigeons) since August 22, 1972. I have walked by it countless times, but this is the first time I ever photographed it. It seems to be more popular with pigeons than people.
Shadows on the river crossing Dearborn (and yet another shot of the Trump Building).
Harrison Hotel Travelodge, 65 E. Harrison. Even though the hotel isn’t on Michigan Ave, the sign is clearly seen from Lake Shore Drive as though it was part of the Michigan Ave street wall.
While lacking the anticipation and preponderance of media that awaited the opening in Manhattan, I am excited about Trader Joe’s opening a new store on Ontario Street in River North (and actually acknowledging it as being in River North, unlike the “Gold Coast Whole Foods” two blocks away, which isn’t in the Gold Coast.)
South Michigan Ave as seen on a recent late fall afternoon. Outside of lightening it up a bit, I made no color changes to this image. I like the blue-ness.
