Picking up from yesterday’s post, here are several more recent shots of Trump as it continues reaching skyward.
Taken from the front of IBM, the streetlights “old style” (it was brand new last year) seems odd with two very modern buildings facing each other.
This is a very Chicago thing. We still like our old fashioned street furniture even if it doesn’t fit in with its immediate surroundings.
This broader shot than shown yesterday gives a better idea of how far they have come. I would say that they have well surpassed the size of the former Sun Times Building.
From the Michigan Ave Bridge, you can really begin to see why the floors are becoming more and more vacant as views are lost at the IBM. I think the idea of turning part of the IBM into condos (which will only look into Trump) is really not smart. They should leave it as office space and do a better job of marketing the building. There are plenty of buildings in the Loop that look directly into other buildings. This isn’t a new phenomena.
But I digress… I will continue to do periodic updates of Trump as it rises.
