Today’s random goodness is culled from images shot over the past month that just didn’t fit into a regular post.
This shot of Washington and Wells was taken from above while I was shooting the top of the Equitable Building for a previous post.
Recently after leaving the Lincoln Park Home Depot on Halsted, I noticed these two buildings across the street. This isn’t the best photo, but I just had to take this snapshot. The building on the left was built within the past few years, and I would imagine the owners of the balconies which now are sandwiched between the their building and the new one under construction are just pissed. I would be… Although, as we know… There are no protected views, unless you are overlooking a park or a cemetery.
The rooftop of Marina City on a recent wet morning, with the IBM Building on the right.
This sign is among several that are lining Washington Street as they are doing work on it. I like it’s home made look. The arrows are cut out of plywood and bolted to the orange background.
Last week the periodic table was on display in the windows of Daley Plaza. I intended to get this shot early in the week as a night shot, with my tripod, and in better conditions. But I had to settle for a snapshot at the end of the week instead. The roadwork being done across the street prevented me from setting up the shot correctly.
Not being a car owner, I am prone to going to odd places when I do have a car. Such was the case on Saturday when Michael and I decided to reserve a Zip Car for a day. We ended up seeing Davy Jones performing I am a Believer, at a concert in Geneva of all places. Not planned, but certainly interesting. This was a free concert for the city, and there were thousands in attendance. We didn’t stay for the concert, but I managed to snap a few shots from the back of the crowd. Having to hold the camera over my head, and with little light, this is the only one that remotely came out. Davy is the short one with the microphone.
