Standing at the intersection of Adams and Wells at rush hour you can grab a burger, catch the “L”, Park your car for the Sears Tower (which seems weird to me), and people watch the tourists, commuters, and locals hanging out at McDonalds.
I will start with the locals hang out… I thought it odd that they have a sign wrapping around the corner, with red lettering on a red background, but it made for an interesting photo subject.
I am trying to remember why there is light shining on the east side of the “L” tracks, given that the sun was on the west…. It must have been a reflection that I didn’t notice. Anyway, made for an interesting shot.
Pigeons parked atop the parking sign. There were actually more than a dozen pigeons parked on the top of the sign, but this being the best of the four shots I took, it had the least pigeons visible.
Heavy Hanke… Counterweight for fire escape on the north east corner. I did a post on the Hanke Iron Works fire escapes on the Pittsfield building last year (including one of my favorite photos).
A collection of lions wrapping around the building at 200 S LaSalle.
This vertical sign beckons visitors for the tall building. Why do they need to advertise 24 hour parking when the tower isn’t open 24 hours? It seems weird to drive to the Sears Tower, but I am guessing there are those who choose to miss out on the experience of approaching it from the street.
Be sure your are checking out WVallen’s Photomapping Project. For the month of September, he has been posting the location of my posts along with several other of his favorite photographers.
