OK, so it may seem like any day can be a random day, and well… It’s my blog; I can have any random day I want. I have so many photos that don’t fit into a regular post, that I could do a random post twice a week for a long time. That, combined with my thinking that I should shift my regular Random Shots day away from Monday, is having me test out different (or is that random?) days to do random image posts.
First up; the sun is shining down Washington Street upon Burnham Center (1915). I like that the building is a bit shiny.
This shot of Wacker Drive during rush hour is part of my recent fascination with taking shots along streetscapes.
Tree… Miro… Tree… I always feel Miro got the shaft by having his contribution to the city plopped in an unused north-facing plaza.
I have passed by the Palace Theater countless times, and until now, never taking a picture of the marquee. Not a bad shot, although a bit too symmetrical.
I like this one a lot. This is the granite wall on the north side of the General Growth Building (Wacker between Washington and Randolph) reflecting traffic on Randolph.
The Kinzie St Garage has been the subject for many photographers including myself. I am sure the architects never suspected that their garage would be photographed as much as it is. Usually used as a backdrop, I have dozens of shots of the garage, but this one from last month stood out as being among the better ones. I especially like the three gulls perched atop the light poles. To be sure, you will see the garage used as a backdrop again.
Don’t forget to check out WVallen’s Photomapping Project. For the month of September, he will be posting the location of my posts along with several other of his favorite photographers.
