Looking over my photos yesterday, I noticed how often I take pictures of the River between Michigan Ave and Wolf Point where it splits into the north and south branches. I have done lots of posts on the river (too many to link back to, but I did two in July alone), but I never tire of shooting images of the river, and I hope you don’t either. I dragged a few of the shots taken over the past couple of months, and here they are.
First up… I cross the State Street bridge on a pretty regular basis… And every time I cross, I glance over to see if there is a shot waiting for me to capture. This is one of those shots that was worth the moment to stop and pull my camera out of my bag.
This shot was taken only seconds later, and I feel is an even better shot the the one above. I like the reflection of the reflection on the windows of the lower level at Marina City.
This shot was taken from one of my Riverbus trips this summer.
While waiting atop the west tower at Marina City during the Air and Water Show last month for the Blue Angels to start their show, I wandered around and shot other non air-show related images (surprised?). This shot of the Reid Murdoch Building reflected in the soon to be new home of United Airlines.
Another shot while waiting around during the Air and Water show. I like this one because it looks like the river us just bending, not splitting, until you realize the small boat is heading towards the unseen shore.
This shot was taken a week earlier from the Franklin Ave Bridge. The shot is tight enough that you wouldn’t know that it is the Chicago River.
