Last night I was once again atop the east tower of Marina City gazing out over the vastness that is Chicagoland. I have done many posts on view from the top of these towers, but I never tire of taking photos of the city from this vantage point, and I hope you never tire of seeing them. Even if you have seen variations of them before.
The first shot is of the west tower as seen from the east tower. The two towers are near duplicate buildings, but I have been around them enough to know a few of the differences.
It was so clear last night, we could see the shoreline light up across the lake in Indiana.
Looking down at the intersection of Wacker, Wabash, and South Water Street.
Peeking between buildings, the concert crowd at the Pritzker Pavilion in Millennium Park could be seen enjoying a Wednesday evening concert.
The eastward view taking in the mouth of the river. Note the schooner on the lake near the lighthouse. You can’t really see it in this photo, but we could see lights across the lake that had to be in Michigan.
The lay of the land looking northwest. I love where thoroughfares and expressways disrupt the street grid in rivers of light.
The view due south with State Street on the left.
