Today’s randomness is selected from images taken over the past week.
The Reliance Building, now Hotel Burnham, has always been near and dear to my heart. This is perhaps the most important building in Chicago’s Loop with regard to the history of the curtain wall skyscraper. Standing on Washington Street looking up between the grand bays the cornice detail comes into view.
I have seen this homeless woman around the Loop for the past several months, but little did I know she is an artist. I walked by her, doing her bliss, along Washington Street. She was painting flowers.
Macy*s is continuing to clean the hell out of the Marshall Fields State Street store building to convince us that it is all right to relegate the Fields name to a few signs on a building and a display inside the store. I recently noticed this shiny sign on the corner along Wabash. It looks very “fakey” in its cleanliness.
Hazy and hot looking down Randolph Street. This shot taken from Millennium Park. I have taken the save view of Washington Street, but never stopped to do Randolph.
Two Pru casts it’s shadow on the Aon Building.
