Last week after wrapping up classes at the Gleacher Center, I had the need to get from the Wrigley Bldg. on Michigan Ave to Madison St near Canal. I could walk it, or take a two seat ride on the CTA. But, being that it is summer, I had the alternative to take River Bus. This little known form of warm weather transit is a really great way to see the city from the river for only two bucks.
I thought I would bring a few pictures from my eight minute ride along the river. Today’s post is focused on the Main Branch.
I am a huge fan of modernism at heart, but the Jewelers Bldg always grabs my attention.
Just after boarding the “bus”, I captured the tourists waiting for the Architecture Tour.
As we pull out, the view down river come into sight. It is such a different view from under the bridges.
View west from under the State Street Bridge.
They have been working on the Dearborn Sreet Bridge for more than a year; they still need to paint the south span.
