Walking home from work today the sun was just right as I passed by the traffic control for the Monroe Street Bridge. I stopped and really began to take a look at the signs. Now I know I have seen them at all the bridges, but I don’t know that I ever really took the time to look at them. Now of course, I will be looking out for them every time I cross the river.
A close up of the “P” reveals that the outline of the letters are just painted on the red plastic lenses.

The bell at the top is amazingly (or is that annoyingly?) loud when the bridge is being raised and lowered.
I like the bright orange color of the bell.
BTW, Thanks again to all that sent me emails yesterday and today, and thanks again to Apartment Therapy Chicago for the feature. I had well over 700 visitors yesterday, and am glad the new look has been so well received. >D<
